Capture an insight, thought, or reference to a file for later. Use when the user wants to save or jot something without losing context. Trigger on "note this", "save this", "capture this", "jot this down", "remember this for later", or when the user shares something worth keeping but not acting on right now.

Note — Capture Insight

Save a thought or reference to a file.

Process

1. Resolve workspace

Default workspace: ~/Grimoire/. If it doesn't exist, ask the user: "Where do you keep your notes?" Use their answer as the workspace root.

2. Determine target

If the user passed a path as argument, use it. Otherwise default to <workspace>/Inbox/YYYY-MM-DD-[slug-from-title].md.

3. Write

Create the file with a timestamp:

**Source:** [where it came from]
**Tags:** #topic (e.g. #ai, #design, #architecture)

Tag conventions:

  • Use #topic format — lowercase, single word or hyphenated
  • Max 3 tags per note
4. Confirm

Say: "Saved to [path]."
