Open CoStage

  1. Call the CoStage MCP tool render_director_stage_widget.
  2. Pass the user's active Codex workspace as the absolute projectDir. Never pass the plugin source directory unless it is also the user's active project. The MCP server binds normal storage to the current CODEX_THREAD_ID, so reopening the same task keeps the same scene even if its workspace path changes.
  3. Default to displayMode: "fullscreen".
  4. Confirm that the native widget opened and that its activeSceneId matches the scene the user expects. By default, project data belongs to:

To share one stage across multiple tasks, pass the same explicit absolute stageDir in every render and edit call. The widget and Codex share these files through MCP. Do not start a second localhost server for normal plugin use.

If the render tool is unavailable immediately after installation or upgrade, ask the user to open a new Codex task so the plugin tools can load.
