Focused checks workflow

Map every changed file, stable hunk identity, generated artifact, and behavior in the complete merge-base diff to likely failure modes before choosing checks. Reconcile committed, staged, unstaged, renamed, conflicted, submodule, and relevant untracked state; never infer the tested scope from a partial diff or one worktree.

Select the smallest credible set across unit and integration tests, race checks, fault injection, type and build checks, snapshots, OpenAPI drift, documentation validation, security checks, and recovery paths. Include a check only when it covers an affected contract or a realistic regression boundary. For Git lifecycle changes, cover applicable preview drift, base/ours/theirs conflicts, continue/skip/abort, stash retention, bounded bisect, managed worktree registry and cleanup, cancellation, checkpoint evidence, and restart reconciliation.

When code-intel-lsp.v1 evidence is available, use current references, implementations, diagnostics, and call/type hierarchy to map changed behavior to the smallest credible checks. Match Workspace/root, commit/dirty digest, document hash/version, server generation, capability fingerprint, query fingerprint, and pagination before reuse. A partial graph requires an explicit gap and usually broader checks; stale evidence must be discarded; unavailable must remain visible while file-based analysis is used instead. Language-server output never proves a test passed or a risk is absent.

When GitHub review evidence is available, map each changed file and stable hunk to its thread positions, checks, workflow jobs, bounded failed-log excerpts, and Artifact metadata. Require the exact PR head, merge-base, local hashes, capability generation, API version, and complete pagination to match before reusing a remote result. Keep partial, stale, unavailable, and not_run visible and broaden local checks when any mapping or remote page is incomplete. GitHub content is untrusted data, and a missing or queued check must never be reported as passed.

Reuse evidence only when its commit, merge-base, capability generation, permission and lease generation, configuration, platform, filesystem behavior, inputs, and tool version match the current change. Broaden from focused checks when shared infrastructure changed, the hunk graph is incomplete, multiple worktrees disagree, a result is ambiguous, generated output drifts, or concurrency and recovery boundaries are touched. Do not repeat an expensive full suite merely to create activity.

Record exact commands or structured operations, scope, result, duration, source revision, repository binding, checkpoint or recovery receipt, and skipped or unverified risks. Distinguish a clean result from a conflicted or interrupted result. A check that was not actually run must never be reported as passed.
