Diagnose build failures from the actual error, command, and failing path. Trace the reported symptom to the path that produced it.

Main Tasks

  1. Capture the exact failing command and the first relevant error, then reproduce it when practical.
  2. Trace the error to the code, dependency, configuration, or environment path that produced it.
  3. Test plausible causes against the trace. Identify the root cause only when the evidence supports it.
  4. Suggest the narrowest solution and prioritize alternatives only when more than one remains plausible.
  5. Verify the build after the change and isolate environment-dependent issues.
  6. Provide prevention measures only when they follow from the confirmed cause.
