Use this skill when the user wants translation data for medicine, law, finance, engineering, policy, or other specialist text where the exact term matters more than a loose paraphrase. Trigger it for requests like "test whether it knows the field jargon," "make the translation use the proper technical term," or "check that it can do domain copy, not just everyday language translation."

SKILL.md

Skill: domain-terminology-translation

1. Capability Definition & Real Case

  • Professional Definition: The ability to translate specialized domain text while selecting correct target-language terminology, respecting field-specific meaning distinctions, and maintaining precision that general-language translation often misses.
  • Dimension Hierarchy: Specialized and Culturally Grounded Translation->Domain-Sensitive Translation->domain-terminology-translation
Real Case

[Case 1]

  • Initial Environment: A translation agent is given a short English clinical-trial abstract and a German target locale. The environment includes a small glossary stating that "progression-free survival" must map to "progressionsfreies Überleben" and "hazard ratio" must not be paraphrased away.
  • Real Question: Translate the following biomedical sentence into German using precise domain terminology: "The trial met its primary endpoint, improving progression-free survival with a hazard ratio of 0.72."
  • Real Trajectory: The agent identifies the text as biomedical, retrieves the glossary-preferred forms, avoids lay paraphrases, and outputs a single German sentence with specialist terminology intact.
  • Real Answer: Die Studie erreichte ihren primären Endpunkt und verbesserte das progressionsfreie Überleben bei einer Hazard Ratio von 0,72.
  • Why this demonstrates the capability: A generic translation can sound fluent while still missing the accepted term of art. This case tests whether the agent understands that correctness in domain translation is partly terminological and not merely semantic at a high level. It is therefore well suited for benchmarking the gap between everyday multilingual ability and specialized translation competence.

Pipeline Execution Instructions

To synthesize data for this capability, you must strictly follow a 3-phase pipeline. Do not hallucinate steps. Read the corresponding reference file for each phase sequentially:

  1. Phase 1: Environment Exploration

Read the exploration guidelines to discover raw knowledge seeds: references/EXPLORATION.md

  1. Phase 2: Trajectory Selection

Once Phase 1 is complete, read the selection criteria to evaluate the trajectory: references/SELECTION.md

  1. Phase 3: Data Synthesis

Once a trajectory passes Phase 2, read the synthesis instructions to generate the final data: references/SYNTHESIS.md
