Verbal Identity
Tone of Voice
Describe how you want AI to write for you. Pick 3-5 descriptors:
My tone is: [e.g., "Direct, pragmatic, confident but not arrogant, technical when needed, no corporate speak"]
My tone is NOT: [e.g., "Hype-driven, salesy, overly casual, condescending, vague"]
Words I Use
[LIST WORDS THAT FEEL LIKE YOUR BRAND — e.g., "clean, scalable, documented, actionable, no-nonsense"]
Words I Avoid
[LIST WORDS TO NEVER USE — e.g., "revolutionary, game-changing, synergy, leverage, excited to announce"]
Writing Rules
- [YOUR RULE — e.g., "Always first person singular (I, not we)"]
- [YOUR RULE — e.g., "Short sentences. If it can be shorter, make it shorter."]
- [YOUR RULE — e.g., "No emoji unless explicitly requested"]
- [YOUR RULE — e.g., "Technical terms are fine — don't dumb things down"]
Formatting Standards
Documents & Reports
- Heading hierarchy: [e.g., "H1 for title, H2 for sections, H3 for subsections. No H4+."]
- Paragraph style: [e.g., "Short paragraphs, max 3-4 sentences"]
- List style: [e.g., "Use → for inline lists, bullet points only when explicitly listing items"]
Presentations
- Preferred format: [e.g., "Dark background, large typography, minimal text per slide"]
- Slide dimensions: [e.g., "16:9 for presentations, 4:5 for LinkedIn carousels"]
- Max words per slide: [e.g., "20 words max. Fragments over sentences."]
Social Media
- Platform focus: [e.g., "LinkedIn primary, Twitter secondary"]
- Post length: [e.g., "150-300 words for LinkedIn"]
- Hashtag policy: [e.g., "No hashtags" or "3-5 relevant hashtags at end"]
How AI Should Use This Skill
- Read this file before creating any deliverable — document, presentation, post, email, design
- Apply visual identity to all outputs — colors, fonts, formatting
- Match verbal identity in all written content — tone, word choices, writing rules
- When in doubt, ask — "Does this match your brand guidelines?" is better than guessing
- If the user corrects something, log it in the learning log so the preference persists
