What this skill does not cover
Design tokens, component styling, and responsive behavior — those belong to the ui-design-system skill. Brand decides which colors and typefaces; the design system decides how they're structured and applied.
Standing checks
Apply to any name, mark, or palette before presenting it:
- Legibility floor — readable at 16px, and as a single flat color.
- Category test — could a competitor use this unchanged? If yes, it's generic.
- Contrast — brand colors must produce at least one WCAG AA text pairing. A
palette that can't legally hold text gets overridden in implementation anyway.
- Cross-cultural — check names and symbols for unintended meaning in target markets.
- Availability — for names, check domain, existing trademarks, and social handles
before presenting. Flag conflicts. You are not giving legal clearance; say so.
