Vehicle Types & Use Cases
Use this skill to translate a buyer's lifestyle into suitable vehicle categories.
Core categories
Compact sedan
Best for commuting, efficiency, easy parking, and buyers who rarely carry bulky cargo. Typical strengths: lower purchase price, good efficiency, predictable handling. Typical compromises: limited cargo height, lower seating position, less flexibility for large families.
Sport sedan
Best for buyers who want everyday practicality with stronger acceleration and handling. Typical strengths: responsive steering, lower center of gravity, engaging road behavior. Typical compromises: firmer ride, higher tire/insurance costs, less cargo versatility than SUVs.
Hatchback
Best for urban buyers who want small exterior dimensions with flexible cargo space. Typical strengths: efficient packaging, fold-down rear seats, easy parking. Typical compromises: less towing capability, road noise can be higher.
Compact SUV / crossover
Best for small families, mixed commuting, cargo flexibility, and drivers who prefer a higher seating position. Typical strengths: versatile cargo space, easier entry/exit, available AWD. Typical compromises: usually less efficient and less agile than a sedan.
Midsize SUV
Best for larger families, road trips, towing, or buyers needing more cargo and passenger capacity. Typical strengths: space, comfort, often 3-row seating. Typical compromises: higher price, fuel use, and parking footprint.
Adventure SUV
Best for outdoor use, rough roads, camping, trail access, and buyers prioritizing capability over efficiency. Typical strengths: ground clearance, AWD/4WD, durability. Typical compromises: fuel economy, wind noise, ride comfort.
Electric crossover
Best for buyers with home/work charging, predictable daily mileage, and a desire for low running costs. Typical strengths: quiet operation, instant torque, lower routine energy cost. Typical compromises: charging time, range sensitivity, depreciation uncertainty.
Luxury SUV
Best for buyers prioritizing comfort, premium materials, technology, power, and prestige-like attributes. Typical strengths: refinement, features, performance. Typical compromises: purchase price, depreciation, insurance, repair complexity.
How to apply this skill
- Separate the buyer's hard requirements from lifestyle preferences.
- Identify likely vehicle categories before selecting an exact model.
- Do not assume an SUV is automatically best for a family; compare actual seats and cargo.
- Do not assume a sports car must be a two-seat coupe; a sport sedan may better fit daily use.
- Use dataset tools to verify actual inventory attributes before recommending anything.
